The Manitowoc Ice IDT0500A Indigo NXT ice maker is suitable for medium-volume applications, with a 24-hour capacity of up to 520 pounds of ice production. The amount that it produces is determined on the air temperature outside and the temperature of the incoming water; greater temperatures cause less ice to form. The machine creates full-cube ice, which is ideal for bagged applications and soft drinks. Before lowering, the Manitowoc Ice IDT0500A whole cube ice maker head's acoustical detecting probe measures the thickness of the ice using sound waves. This unit's touchscreen display allows it to be controlled to create a certain amount of ice or to switch off at specific periods of the day.
