Commercial ice bins are essential for storing ice when you have a modular ice machine head.

Finding the right ice bin for your commercial needs is important, allowing you to keep ice available for when you need it. Ice machine heads make the ice, but once that ice is made there is no place for it to go without a proper ice bin. Ice bins are usually not refrigerated, but they are insulated so the ice won't melt. Food-grade stainless steel or plastic is used to line ice storage containers. To stop the ice from melting too quickly so that you can meet all of your ice needs, there is insulation or a tiny air gap between the liner and bin exterior. How often should you empty your commercial ice bin?

You should remove any remaining ice from the bin at the end of each day or at the start of the next. If the ice is left in the bin for an extended period of time, it will eventually melt into a single large block and be too difficult to remove. Furthermore, since it is absorbing any stray aromas or bacteria that may be in the cabinet, old ice in the bin can start to taste bad. For this reason, it is advised that the interior of the bin be at least dried out each time it is emptied of old ice.


How often should you clean your commercial ice bin?

As frequently as the ice machine installed on top has to be cleaned, the bin inside also needs to be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. Cleaning the commercial ice bin at least once a month is crucial for maintaining your ice machine's parts and accessories.
