Cold food wells offer the convenience of having chilled items right at your customer's fingertips. You won't have to bother with replacing melted cubes or overflowing wells because a drop-in cold well doesn't require ice to keep contents cool. Simply plug the machine in and load it with fruits, veggies, cheese, and salad in food pans.

Cold wells are designed with refrigerated systems to continuously cool food pans and their contents. Health codes require chilled foods be served at no higher than 41° Fahrenheit. Alongside, hot & cold food wells, these units are ideal for creating your own cold food buffet lines in cafeterias, dining halls, and restaurants. Hot & cold food wells allow users more versatility with their food wells. These units can provide food pan heating or refrigerated cooling.


Sizing & Capacity

Widths come in a wide range from 15" to 96", while depth of the wells ranges from 15" to 30". Our selection of countertop cold wells includes options with different numbers of compartments, so you can set out multiple types of food at once.

Pan capacities are directly related to the size of the food well. There are wells that hold many as 6 full size hotel pans, or as little as a single full size pan. The compressors in these drop-in cold wells pump refrigerant around the food pans to keep contents cold and at safe serving temperatures for hours at a time.

  • Curved food wells are great for extending buffet-style lines around corners, allowing you to maximize all counter space available.
  • Straight cold wells come in varying sizes and can be dropped into straight counters and tables.
