What type of heat is best for holding food?

The right heat depends on the food and how long it needs to be held. Radiant heat is commonly used for short holding periods, while combining radiant and conductive heat can support longer holds. Extended holding may benefit from controlled convected heat and humidity.

How do I choose the right Hatco strip heater?

Consider the type of food, size of the holding area, available mounting height, surrounding materials, airflow, required output, and electrical requirements. Installation height and spacing are especially important because too much heat can reduce food quality while too little may not maintain temperature effectively.

What is the difference between Glo-Ray®, Infra-Black®, and Ultra-Glo®?

Glo-Ray uses a tubular heating element and reflector for general radiant holding. Infra-Black uses a larger heated panel designed for more uniform heat at limited mounting clearances, while Ultra-Glo uses ceramic elements to provide broader coverage from greater working heights.
